Grand Haven, Michigan | Summer Wedding at Harbourfront Grand Hall
Ali and Tommy's June wedding was beautiful, elegant and most of all HOT! Their Grand Haven, Michigan wedding ended up being a crazy 91 degrees and very very humid. Even with this, the day was absolutely magical and a great way to end June!
The day started at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Muskegon, with everyone getting dressed and ready. The church had this office/library area which worked perfectly for hanging Ali's dress since she's a teacher! The ceremony was beautiful, with Ali and Tommy having a unity ceremony where they braided a rope representing the two of them and God.
After the ceremony the wedding party hopped onto the trolley and headed to Grand Haven for some pictures before the reception. Holy cow, was the city and beach packed with people! We ended up going to a few different locations around town before heading into the reception.
I asked Ali how her and Tommy met and about their first date here's what she said: "We met via Tinder. Our first date was to see the movie Gravity and dinner at Champps in Lansing."
She then went into detail about the day Tommy proposed to her: "It was April 16, 2016 and we planned on going to the Binder Park Zoo for opening day. It was the most beautiful, sunny, perfect day. We had a wonderful day at the zoo and I could tell he was nervous but wasn't sure why. Then after the zoo we went out to dinner at Olive Garden in Lansing and then came back to our apartment in which Tommy asked if I was having a good day and I replied "the best!" And he then said, "well can I make it even better?" and got down on one knee and opened the ring box. It was the most perfect, romantic, intimate moment."
The reception at Harbourfront Place Grand Hall was A BLAST! First off, their tables were numbered by their favorite movies and TV shows. I love when couples incorporate personal touches into their wedding and they did that beautifully. The highlight of the night was the lip sync battle between Ali and her dad. EVERYONE was on their feet and it was so cool to watch, I was laughing and screaming along with everyone else!
Ali and Tommy, no one deserves this amazing wedding day more than the two of you. I am so beyond happy that I got to be there to witness the beginning of your next big adventure together. Thank you a million times over for being so incredible. Cheers to many more decades of love and happiness!
