One Room Challenge | Master Bedroom Reveal
Participating in the One Room Challenge as an Instagram guest participant this spring was seriously amazing. I found the challenge on Instagram and it was the perfect way to redo my bedroom (which REALLLLLLLY needed it!) I feel like it gives a realistic expectation on how to redo ONE ROOM vs what you see on tv which is a whole house in a few weeks.
Going into the challenge, I wanted my bedroom to flow with what Iâve already repainted and decorated in my house - with a more mid-century modern vibe. I felt like it was just a weird room that didnât feel right and I never wanted to be in there except to sleep. The furniture I had was a mix of items from my childhood, things I bought for other purposes and free stuff.
What I did:
Painted the room with Behr paint (colors Sterling and Black Pepper)
Bought new side tables
Bought a new dresser
Replaced light switches
Bought a new bench (that you can actually sit on)
New lamps/curtains/art
I am in LOVE with the dresser from Retro Blues, Allie is doing amazing things refinishing and bringing new life into furniture. The side tables I bought are from Amazon, but they match the dresser so perfectly with the wood tone and white. Also from Amazon is the bench, I wanted something that matched as far as wood tones with the dresser and side tables and itâs so sturdy! I have Marushka prints all over my house, they were all made here in Grand Haven so finding them is so fun and they are just so unique. The two I have in the bedroom came from Etsy and Ebay. I actually found the bigger one in a local vintage store but it was a little worn and didnât include the smaller print with it.
Check out the final photos as well as the last few photos are from before and during the challenge. Also Iâve included my mood board that I started with, I think I did pretty good keeping close to it.
