Grand Rapids, Michigan | Downtown Evening Engagement Session
I met Payton back in 2010, we were on the same floor in the dorm we were in at Grand Valley State University. We hit it off pretty much from the beginning along with our friend Lisa. All three of us liked the same music, would go to local shows together and just always had a blast on our random adventures even after college. When Payton first told me about John I was so excited for her, just seeing how happy and nervous she was just talking about him, I knew she was falling in love.
Fast forward to 2016, Payton decided to apply to the Disney College Program and get's accepted (I was that friend who swore when she called me, she ended up cutting the clip for her video she made - in my defense I didn't know she was recording!!) John stayed up here in Michigan while she was gone and was super supportive of her the whole time. Here's how Payton describes their proposal "I was living in Orlando while doing the Disney College Program. John came down for a visit a few months into the program! We had always talked about my dream of being proposed to in the Magic Kingdom so on the day we visited I was a mess. After dinner, I was feeling a little down like he wasnβt going to end up proposing but while we were having our photo taken at a Tangled floating lantern experience and he popped the question!" Super sweet right?!??!?!
So now they are getting married, and it's been such a blast being able to help one of my dear friends plan her wedding and just seeing her go through the same thing I did last year. Except the fact that she's planning her wedding from Florida!!! They are making it work and trying to do as much wedding planning as possible when they are up to visit, I've been helping her with different vendors and ideas for the wedding. The only time I cried on my own wedding day was when Payton left, since we're only seeing each other about twice a year now. - OKAY. Let's talk about this awesome engagement session.
These two are A BLAST! They are so goofy and so much fun to be around, I knew we wouldn't stop laughing the whole time. We took the engagement pictures downtown Grand Rapids - we pretty much walked from one side of downtown to the other (and Uber'd back!) for pictures. I had to throw in a few gifs, because they are too much fun. I only I had them do one out of the three, the other two was all them!
Thanks again Payton for being an amazing friend, and John for being an amazing fiance to Payton. I love and miss you both dearly - I can't wait for your wedding next May!
