Grand Rapids, Michigan | Couples Session Turned Surprise Proposal | Alyssa + Dalton

I first met Dalton (and Alyssa) at their friends Shelby + Chris’ wedding last November. It wasn’t until I ran a free session giveaway for hitting 4k on Instagram that they both followed me. Alyssa won the session which was super cool since they’ve been dating for over 5 years and never had any professional photos taken.

A few days before the session, Dalton messaged me saying that he had a ring and planned on using the session to propose. We met at Provin Trails in Grand Rapids and followed the yellow trail around the park waiting for the perfect spot to propose. I had them stand back to back and to turn around to each other and make a funny face. We did it earlier in the session as well, just to throw Alyssa off.
