My Barefoot Wedding | Beach Ceremonies
My Barefoot Wedding is Michigan's largest all-inclusive beach wedding ceremony provider. Servicing ceremonies all along Michigan's beautiful West Coast, for over ten years, they provide couples with everything needed to make their dream ceremony become a reality. They are located in Spring Lake, Michigan; however, they service beach weddings from Traverse City to New Buffalo.
I had the opportunity to chat with Ben and Salim (pictured in order below) the event directors of My Barefoot Wedding and ask them a few questions. I love getting to know more local vendors, and if you're looking to have a beach wedding yourself, check them out!
What is the importance of your role(s) at a wedding?
Providing an all-inclusive ceremony service requires a lot of coordination and execution, which is where My Barefoot Wedding comes into play. We coordinate all setup/take-down, provide experienced officiants and photographers and strive to make everyone's "big day" one that they will remember forever.
What Makes your business stand out?
What makes My Barefoot Wedding stand out from others, is that we are Michigan's only all-inclusive beach wedding ceremony provider. Servicing ceremonies along Michigan's West Coast for over ten years, we have built excellent relationships with park supervisors to ensure we are respecting the environment while also creating a unique experience to our couples. Along with our experienced team, we strive to create an experience that our couples will remember for a lifetime.
Which wedding trend are you glad to see go?
The use of selfie sticks! Haha.
What wedding trend do you foresee loving?
Beach ceremonies! For couples looking to create an intimate, relaxing and unique experience Michigan's lakeshore is the place to be.
Who is your ideal client?
We do not have an exact niche of couples that we service as each couple is different from one to the next. We have serviced couples in their early 20's who are embarking on their first journey together, and have also had couples in their 50's/60's deciding to take a different path. We also offer same sex ceremonies, and vow renewals.
Where do you draw inspiration?
Our inspiration comes from our couples! Although we have been around for ten years, we are always striving to improve our services and are open to feedback from our couples about what they liked/disliked. We also want to know what our couples difficulty with in booking, so we can partner with other vendors to make our couples experience as smooth as possible.
What do you love most about what you do?
It is tough to complain about your job when you are spending most of it on the beach celebrating love! We love to help create a memorable experience for our couples, and to see it come to fruition on our couple's "big day" is what makes it special for us. Hearing the stories of our couples first met, their quirky stories of one another and being able to look back through albums from previous ceremonies, and recall the stories is why we love doing what we do.
Best advice for clients?
We try to make available as many tools as possible for our couples to help take away the stress of wedding planning by offering vendor recommendations for services that we do not offer. We also offer unlimited phone calls and consultations to our couples to make sure every question is answered.
