March Wedding at Waldenwoods Conference Center | Taylor + Collin

Taylor and Collin’s March wedding at Waldenwoods Conference Center was an amazing way to start the 2021 season. These two went through A LOT to get to their wedding day. From changing venues, timelines, guest lists and everything in-between, they went through it all.

The day started at Taylor’s parents house where she got ready and had a first look with her dad and brother. We then headed to The Rock Church for the ceremony. Taylor and Collin decided not to do a first look, so their first time seeing each other was when Taylor walked down the aisle with her dad!

I asked Taylor how they met, “We met in college at GVSU by mutual friends. We were broke college kids and never went on a true first date. We hung out one day at the library and studied for final exams and then went to Collin's apartment to watch a movie - nothing too special or noteworthy. About 4 months later, we went to Applebee's for a true date!”

After the ceremony we headed to Waldenwoods for the reception. The water and Cromaine Lodge was the perfect background for their portraits! Being that it was March, the weather was still pretty cold out, so we quickly headed inside for cake cutting and formal dances.

I asked Taylor about their proposal, “Collin and I were in Grand Rapids for the weekend to attend my college roommates (who is now a bridesmaid) wedding. We walked all around Grand Rapids and reminisced over our days as college kids hanging out downtown. We got lunch at our favorite spot - HopCat & indulged in some peanut butter pie. I got a FaceTime call from my friend who was getting married telling me that they were postponing their rehearsal that I was supposed to be coordinating (it was all a stall!!!) before heading across the Blue Bridge to head back to the car. Collin stopped suddenly to look at the water and next thing I knew, he was on one knee! The rest is a total blur of happy tears!! Collin even got my best friend to capture the moment with photos.”
