2021: A Year in Review | Sydney Marie Photography

2021, where to begin.

The year of still more cancellations and reschedules. The year of vaccines, restrictions being lifted and SO SO SO many weddings. 2021 was A LOT for the wedding industry, sticking two years of weddings into one turned to be chaotic with many vendors getting burnout. Despite all of that, I feel like I did my best to avoid burnout. One of the biggest things I implemented into my workflow was AI technology to go through images for me, removing any photos that were blurry or unusable. With using this technology (only half of the year starting in August) it saved me almost 16 days of work that I used to talk to potential clients, and focus on other aspects of my business.

In 2021 I photographed 33 weddings between my own weddings, being a second photographer and an associate photographer. Photographed 28 sessions and drove around 8000 miles.

I am so thankful to all the couples that stuck with me through these last two years, I appreciate you all so much! From every restriction update, covid tests and everything in between, we made it!

I know 2022 is going to be an amazing jam packed year! I hit my goal of 20 weddings in October and opened up a few more spots for the year. As of writing this, I have 24 weddings, and might take on a 25th, but I’m very happy with where I’m at in booking. I’ve also opened my 2023 books and have had quite a few inquiries already.

Here’s my 2021 recap of favorites throughout the year, in no particular order + some gifs!
