Glen Arbor, Michigan | Sunset Sleeping Bear Dunes Engagement Session | Samantha + Alec
Samantha and Alec’s engagement session at Sleeping Bear Dunes in Glen Arbor, Michigan was A TON of fun! These two just love to laugh and have fun, including doing the Cotton Eye Joe dance. Samantha’s best friend gifted them custom ears, since they both love Disney (and got engaged there!) so we just had to take photos with them! She also came to the engagement session and photo bombed a few photos at the end.
I can’t wait for their wedding next year in Traverse City, I know it’s going to be an absolute blast. Here’s a few q+a’s with Samantha and Alec:
Q: How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship? (these may often be the same moment, but aren’t always)
A: We knew each other were the one when we realized how well we get along and how much of a similar background we have. Alec and I both realized this around the same time, which was between the first and second year of dating. We then dated for awhile more, working on our personal goals before taking the next step in our relationship.
Q: Give all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?
A: The proposal happened at Disney World in front of Cinderella's castle during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It was a complete surprise- Alec had planned the entire vacation and surprised me with the trip for our 5-year anniversary. I secretly was hoping that he would pop the question while we were there, and he did! It was a rainy day in Florida, so we got engaged in ponchos, but it was absolutely perfect. I always dreamed of getting engaged in front of Cinderella's castle, and I could not be happier that my perfect person made that dream come true for me.
Q: What are you most excited about when it comes to your wedding planning?
A: We are both most excited about finally being married. I'm excited to call myself Mrs. Beck. Alec is excited to see me in my dress and finally be able to say that I'm his wife. We've loved venue tours and trying to figure out the catering together also- wedding planning gives us more time to spend together and we love the quality time that is involved in planning our big day.
