Our pets are our family, and of course we want to include them in our engagement and wedding. But how?

I’ve seen so many awesome and unique ways to include couples furbabies into their wedding festivities. I wish I would have known some of these for my own wedding!! Here are a few ways to include your pets into your engagement session and wedding.

Bring them to your engagement session/Have your engagement session (or part of your engagement session) at home.

This is one of the easiest ways to include your pet(s), you can use photos of them for your save the dates, invitations or even print them off for your table numbers.

If you plan on taking your pet(s) to a location, have someone come with you to help watch them while we’re taking photos just of you and your partner.

Name your signature drinks after them.

This is such a fun idea! Got a cute nickname for your pet? or just want to celebrate them? Name your signature drink after them. It’s an easy way to include them without a ton of extra work.

Have them in your wedding party.

Move over flower girl, having your pet(s) in the wedding party is a new trend that I am LOVING. Either including them in portraits or having them walk down the aisle makes them truly a part of your wedding day.

Make cardboard cutouts for a photo booth or just dancing.

Hands down this is the most creative and fun way to include your pets. Especially if you have cats or other pets that don’t do very well in social situations.

You can order them online from Fathead, Build A Head or order them from a local print shop. If you want to DIY them you can too!

Thank You treats for your guests pets.

Instead of having a candy bar for thank you treats, treat your guests to a bag of treats for their pets. Bonus is that any left overs can go to your own pets and won’t be a waste!
