Kristin and Erika’s family forward elopement in Grand Haven, Michigan was one of my favorites of 2019. Being able to photograph their love and family coming together and also being one of their witnesses is such an honor.

I asked Kristin how her and Erika met, “We worked together. We were both unavailable at the time and started hanging out as friends. There are so many meaningful and specific dates/conversations that come to mind as to how and when our relationship evolved; but eventually we were both single and decided to give it a shot. The day we started dating (three years ago to the date of the elopement) we spent the day at Rosy Mound talking and laying in our hammock and by the time we left, we were together.”

I also asked Kristin the story of their proposal, “We decided to get all of our snow stuff on and go hiking all around Grand Haven. First we went to PJ Hoffmaster, then we went to Rosy Mound. At Rosy Mound we set our hammock up and hung out freezing and talking. Then she said some very sweet things and said; “I know you said it’s weird to say someone’s name as they’re proposing- but I’m gonna do what I want. Kristin, will you marry me?” And it just became funny- obviously I said yes and then we went to Perrin Brewery (where we had our first hangout as friends).”

Thank you a million times over to Kristin and Erika, it was so amazing meeting you both and being a part of your wedding day!
