Rainy Downtown Chicago Engagement Session

Sophia and Gavin’s rainy downtown Chicago engagement session was the perfect mix of city charm, candid moments, and the kind of energy that makes Chicago such an unforgettable place for photos. With the Riverwalk as their backdrop and the storm clearing just in time, this session shows exactly why Chicago engagement photos feel so magical.

About thirty minutes before their session, it was absolutely downpouring, but I am so glad we decided to wait it out. The rain left the city streets glowing, and Sophia and Gavin brought such warmth and ease to every moment. We started at the iconic Wrigley Building before wandering along the Riverwalk, stopping anywhere that caught our eye. The soft light after the storm made everything feel calm and intimate, even in the middle of the city.

As we walked, I learned more about their life together in Chicago. They love exploring new cafes, finding the best coffee shops, and trying as many restaurants as they can. They also love taking trips back to Michigan for hiking and camping. Gavin is originally from Michigan, and we realized during the session that his mom actually lives right down the road from me which felt like the sweetest small world moment.
