Summer Beach Proposal at Oval Beach | Saugatuck, Michigan

John and Amanda’s proposal at Oval Beach in Saugatuck, Michigan was one for the books. The combination of surprise, laughter, love and a little bit of patience, made their proposal unforgettable. I was so excited when John contacted me about putting together their proposal, he wanted to propose at Oval Beach which is somewhere special they had spent time together. The plan was for me and him to meet at the beach and set everything up while Amanda was out to dinner with friends. Her friends would then drop her off at the beach and she’d walk down to where we were.

One thing to note about Oval Beach, if you are ever planning a session or surprise proposal is that there is NO service at the beach. This particular summer evening, the beach was PACKED so for me and John to find each other and then find a spot for the proposal was challenging without any service. Luckily after wondering around a bit, we found each other (as we were both the only two people not in swim/beach wear) and picked out a spot to set everything up. Without service, we had no idea when Amanda would be dropped off, or how to tell her friends where exactly we were. Luckily, after a few minutes of waiting, we saw her coming down the beach and it was go time!

After Amanda said YES! We took some photos on the beach and celebrated with some champagne. Congrats again John and Amanda, it was such an honor to photograph your proposal!
